Overview

This Privacy Policy applies to this website (mayanchart.com) and to our iOS apps MayanChart AI (current) and MayanChart (legacy / earlier store listing). Both apps are Mayan calendar / astrology companions for personal reflection and spiritual entertainment. Chart and profile inputs are designed to stay on your device unless a product-specific feature you enable (such as optional private iCloud in MayanChart AI Pro) syncs through Apple.

We do not operate a MayanChart server that receives your charts, readings, or Ask questions for cloud AI inference.

1. Scope — which product you use

MayanChart AI is the current rebuild with on-device AI-assisted readings, optional Ask (including microphone), Pro subscriptions, widgets, and optional private iCloud Continuity. Details are in section 3.

MayanChart (legacy) is an earlier product / store listing. It shares the same general purpose (on-device Mayan calendar companion) but may not include AI Ask, Pro Continuity, widgets, or the same purchase model. Details and caveats are in section 4.

Feature availability depends on which app and build you have installed. When in doubt, check the App Store listing for that app or email support.

2. Shared principles (both apps)

Profiles and chart inputs. You may enter a display name, birth date (used for Mayan calendar pillars), and optionally other birth details supported by that app (such as time or place). Birth date drives core calendar pillars where the app offers them (for example Long Count, Tzolk’in, Haab, Night Lord). Where an app offers optional time/place, those inputs are for additional context only and do not change those core pillars in MayanChart AI.

On-device first. Calendar math and interpretive content are designed to run on your device. Free use does not require creating a MayanChart username or password on our servers.

Not medical advice. Content is for reflection and spiritual entertainment — not medical, psychological, legal, or financial advice.

Support email. If you contact us, we receive the name, email address, and message content you send, and use them only to respond.

3. MayanChart AI (current app)

The following apply specifically to MayanChart AI:

Readings and Ask AI. Interpretive text and Ask AI questions and answers are generated on your device using on-device Mayan knowledge and, when available, optional Apple Intelligence (Foundation Models), with a deterministic on-device fallback when Apple Intelligence is unavailable. We do not upload your chart or Ask content to MayanChart servers for AI processing.

Voice Ask (optional). If you use the microphone to ask by voice, the app requests Microphone and Speech Recognition permission. Audio is used to turn speech into text for your question. When available, processing stays on device (see the iOS permission prompts). Voice input is not audio narration of readings, and we do not offer a “listen to your reading” feature.

App content you create. Readings, Ask history, Insights activity, ritual check-ins / streaks, and related in-app content are stored on your device and, if you enable Pro Continuity, in your private iCloud (see below).

Optional private iCloud sync (Pro). On the Free plan, profiles and readings stay on the device you are using. With MayanChart AI Pro, you can optionally sync profiles, readings, and related app data through your private iCloud / CloudKit container. Sync uses your Apple ID and Apple’s private database. It is not a MayanChart-operated backend for storing or training on your charts. You can leave sync off. After you first subscribe, quitting and reopening the app may be needed for Continuity to attach.

Location and birth place. Birth place is optional typed text (city or region), not continuous GPS tracking. The app does not require device Location permission for core chart use. If you add a place, the device may use Apple geocoding to help resolve sunrise/sunset-style Sky & Timing context. Location text and birth data stay with your profile on device and, if enabled, in your private iCloud — not sent to MayanChart servers for AI.

Widgets and notifications. Home Screen and Lock Screen widgets may show limited glance content (for example today’s sign, an affirmation, or a streak) via an on-device App Group. Ritual notifications are optional and are designed so that full chart details are not placed on the lock screen.

PDF export (Pro). Chart PDFs are generated on your device for you to save or share. Once you share a PDF, recipients and other apps are outside this policy’s control.

4. Legacy MayanChart

MayanChart (without “AI” in the name) is our earlier iOS product. It is a Mayan calendar / astrology companion intended for personal reflection and entertainment, with birth/profile data processed primarily on your device.

Legacy builds may not include MayanChart AI features such as Ask AI / microphone, Apple Intelligence enrichment, Pro Continuity private iCloud sync, Home Screen / Lock Screen widgets, or the same Free / Pro feature set. Exact capabilities depend on the version you installed from the App Store.

If you need privacy details for a specific older build, contact support@mayanchart.com with the app name and version shown on your device.

5. Purchases and billing

Depending on the app:

MayanChart AI offers optional Pro subscriptions purchased through Apple’s App Store (StoreKit). Apple processes payment. We may see subscription status and product identifiers needed to unlock Pro features. We do not receive your full payment card details.

Legacy MayanChart versions may differ. Some older builds may not offer in-app subscriptions; others may have used a different purchase setup. We do not globally claim that “our apps have no In-App Purchases.” For billing questions about a specific legacy build, email support@mayanchart.com or manage / review purchases in your Apple ID subscriptions and purchase history.

6. Third parties

For the apps, the primary third party is Apple (App Store / StoreKit where purchases exist, and — for MayanChart AI as applicable — iCloud / CloudKit, optional Apple Intelligence, Speech Recognition, notifications, and geocoding). We do not sell your personal information. We do not use third-party advertising networks inside MayanChart AI or legacy MayanChart as currently described here.

We do not invent app analytics practices that do not exist in the product.

7. Children

Our apps are not directed to children under 13 (or the minimum age required in your region). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child provided information to us, contact support@mayanchart.com so we can delete it.

8. Data retention and your choices

You can delete profiles and local content using in-app controls where available (for example Settings → Data in MayanChart AI). You can turn off optional iCloud sync (MayanChart AI Pro), disable optional notifications, and revoke Microphone / Speech Recognition permissions in iOS Settings when those features exist on your build. Uninstalling an app removes local data on that device; private iCloud data (if any) remains under your Apple ID until you remove it through Apple’s iCloud tools or in-app delete flows where available.

Subscription billing and cancellation (where you have a subscription) are handled by Apple (see our Terms of Use).

9. Website

For this website, we use hosting and related tools needed to serve the pages. If we add website analytics cookies later, we will update this policy.

10. Changes

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The “Last updated” date at the top will change when we do. Continued use of MayanChart AI, legacy MayanChart, or this website after an update means you accept the revised policy.
